Parent involvement is one of the most important factors that contribute to student academic success. Here are some tips for getting more involved.

• Take time each day to participate in educational and social activities involving your children:

  • Help your child study.

  • Make sure they do homework. See the work that they are doing.

  • Play a game, watch t.v. or read a book with your child at bed time.

• Know the names of your children's friends.

• Find out what motivates your child both in and out of the classroom:

  • Help your child set both short and long-term goals.

  • Praise your child when he/she attains one of their goals.

• Communication is vital:

  • Talk to your children every day.
